Hannah Robinson - Freshwest Silver
Hannah is inspired by the colours, textures and light of her coastal environment of Pembrokeshire mainly the beaches, coast path and sea views. She works in small batches, making mostly one-off items with frequently evolving designs.
She began making silver jewellery in 2011 and was immediately taken with the properties of the sea glass washed up on the local beaches. She has worked mainly with sea glass since, incorporating various natural beachcombed and cast items along the way. She has recently begun working with enamels as another way to play with the similar properties of semi-transparent glass and texture, combining coastal shades of transparent enamels over natural beach stone textures on solid silver jewellery.
Her work is mainly of a modern, minimal style with organic edges and forms, plenty of colour in the coastal shades of blues, greens and azure tones and more often than not a little flash of gold.
