Living in Pembrokeshire, Jane’s ceramic bowls and dishes are inspired by the sea. She hand forms her pieces uses a semi-porcelain clay that has a very white body when fired. She then bubble glazes them with turquoise, amethyst and oxide blue, to reflect the rock pools and waves of the ocean shore, adding gold and silver leaf to the insides or edges for a touch of preciousness.
Jane’s paintings are semi- abstract in style and are painted on wooden panels or on paper mainly in acrylics. These artworks express the joy, and deep connection she feels with the coast, exploring both landscape and seascape through paint, often adding elements of poetic language both within and alongside her creations.
